It's Friday night in Trivandrum, India. We have completed a 5-day Knowing Jesus Conference in southern India in the state of Kerela.
In total, 148 church leaders attended this week's conference traveling from various parts of the region. Our expectation was for 100 pastors and wives to attend, and God impressed the hearts of pastors to attend in greater number than we expected. Pastors, evangelists, street ministers, and teachers were represented during the meeting. We were honored to see ministries challenged and inspired by the preaching of the Word of God.
Each day we began with an hour of prayer, preached and taught for several hours, fed the students lunch, and continued with an additional two hours of teaching in the afternoon before closing with an hour of prayer. The daily themes were (1) Knowing Jesus; (2) The Person of Christ; (3) The Life of Christ; (4) Prayer and Devotion. On the final day, we shared in the Lord's Communion and closed with a certificate ceremony and group prayer.
We want to especially thank our dear friend in Christ, Brother Nelson Thomas, for the work he has done in making preparation for this week's conference, along with Brother Anu George. They are special men of God in our lives and have proven to be dedicated to lifting up Jesus Christ. Brother Beilsy Isaac has been an inspiration to us this week, as well, in challenging our heart and mind to the furtherance of the Gospel. As well, Brother Noel Victor has always been such an asset to our team while in India as our "bodyguard" and help.
God has provided us with an opportunity to work closely with Brother Travis Tatum, who has preached powerful and needful messages to the students and team this week. We are honored for him joining us and are looking forward to many future ministry endeavors.
We have felt stronger than ever God's vision for World Missions to Asia. We have met with three great men of God--Nelson Thomas, Noel Victor, and Beilsy Isaac--whom we met with to finalize plans for Project PREACH curriculum in the Indian languages of Malayalam, Telegu, and Hindi. They will be forming teams to translate teacher material and student outlines for using during ministry in India. It is exciting to see the passion and desire of all the men and women we have had the privilege to meet in our travels to India.
Continue to pray for God's provision as we move forward in this great, mighty call of God on our lives. The vision is becoming clearer, and the need is great for ministry in Asia. Thank you all for your prayers and support to WMA.
In Christ,
Chris McGuire/Fred J. Wynn
Executive Director
